There are jobs - and then there are callings.
Mycelium Ecology is growing a movement rooted in the soil of India’s Western Ghats – ancient shola forests, millennia-old streams, and species that exist nowhere else on Earth. We take privately held wild landscapes that are on the brink of disappearing and pull them off the market, binding them to long-term conservation. We protect them. We steward them.
Now, we’re looking for someone who can help weave the human side of this work together – building the communities, relationships, and partnerships that turn ideas into real, lived experiences.
We are a nature conservation collective working with critical ecosystems across the Western Ghats, home to some of the planet’s most biodiverse and threatened landscapes. Our work is simple in intention and demanding in practice: acquire ecologically sensitive land, bind it legally to conservation, build nature learning and experience centres, and invite people back into relationship with the wild.
Our projects include:

You’ll be translating alignment into action.
You’ll meet a school that wants its students to truly understand forests, a collective that wants to host a gathering, a family wondering how to be part of conservation – and you’ll help these intentions become real experiences on the ground. You’ll notice what people care about, where they fit in our ecosystem, and you’ll gently stitch together the right people, places, and moments.
This is relationship-building for conservation. Building community for long-term care.
